Irish writer in Newcastle.

I am represented by Jenny Hewson at Lutyens & Rubinstein Literary Agency. My debut novel THIRST TRAP is out with Picador on 12th June 2025 (UK) and Crown Publishing on 4th November 2025 (US), you can read more about it here. Tour dates and ticket links for events can be found here.

I was awarded a Northern Debut Award for Fiction by New Writing North in 2022.

I have a PhD in eighteenth-century studies from Newcastle University. I am Media Sub-Editor for Criticks, the reviews blog of the British Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies. If you are an academic specialising in eighteenth-century studies and would like to review a film, TV series, radio programme, or podcast relating to the eighteenth century, please do get in touch.

My short fiction has been published by the London Magazine, Gutter, and Extra Teeth, and has also been shortlisted for the London Magazine Short Story Prize (2023), the Francis MacManus Short Story Prize (2021), and the Bridport Prize (2020). I have also placed in the top three of the Benedict Kiely Short Story Competition (2021 and 2022).

My debut novel Thirst Trap was published in 2025. Thirst Trap was shortlisted for an An Post Irish Book Award and was a monthly pick for Dakota Johnson’s TeaTime Book Club.

I am currently writing my second novel.
